Local SEO for Chiropractors: How to Rank in the Google Map Pack

The three practices in Google's map results get most of the calls. Here's how chiropractors earn one of those spots — step by step.

Google Maps results for chiropractors near me on a phone

When someone types "chiropractor near me" into Google, the first thing they see is usually a map with three practices under it. That block — the map pack — is where most local patients make their choice. If your practice isn't in it, you're invisible to a big share of the people already looking for care.

The good news: map-pack rankings aren't random. Google says local results are based on three things — relevance, distance and prominence. You can't move your office closer to every searcher, but you can control a lot of the other two.

1. Get your Google Business Profile category right

Your primary category is one of the strongest relevance signals you have. For most practices it should simply be Chiropractor. Add secondary categories only if they genuinely describe services you offer — stuffing in unrelated categories can hurt more than it helps.

2. Fill in every part of your profile

A complete profile tells Google (and patients) that you're active and trustworthy:

  • Accurate business name, address and phone number
  • Opening hours, including holiday hours
  • Your website link — ideally to a page about your location
  • Services, with short descriptions in plain language
  • A business description that explains who you help and how

Profiles with missing hours or no website look abandoned, and searchers skip them.

3. Add real photos, regularly

Photos of your office, front desk, treatment rooms and team help people picture their first visit. Upload new ones every month or two. Stock photos don't do the same job — patients want to see the real place.

4. Build a steady flow of reviews

Reviews feed directly into prominence. Two things matter most: how many you have compared with nearby chiropractors, and how recent they are.

  • Ask every patient — the best moment is right after their visit
  • Make it easy with a direct link or QR code to your review form
  • Reply to every review, good or bad, in a calm and professional way

Never offer discounts or gifts for reviews, and never ask only happy patients (so-called review gating). Both break Google's rules and can get reviews removed.

5. Keep your listings consistent everywhere

Google cross-checks your name, address and phone number across the web. Make sure they match exactly on Yelp, Apple Maps, Bing Places, Healthgrades, Facebook and the main local directories. Small differences — "Suite 4" vs "#4", an old phone number — create confusion.

6. Send local signals from your website

Your website and your Google profile work together:

  • Put your city and "chiropractor" in your home page title and main heading
  • Create a page for each location (and for nearby towns you genuinely serve)
  • Show your address, phone number and an embedded map on your contact page
  • Add LocalBusiness structured data so search engines read your details correctly

7. Post updates and track your rankings

Google Business Profile posts — offers, events, health tips — keep your profile fresh. Then track where you rank across your area, not just at your front door. Rankings change block by block, so a grid that checks dozens of points around your office shows the real picture.
